Here is just a list of someof the things i have done, or currently working on and what not. Some other things i have done that aren’t linked below are the recording and touching up of “Chappie and Pals” performances at Chum’s.

Production Notes:

Matrix: So overall, i really enjoyed the way the matrix video came out. When i was making this video, there were 2 things i was tryign to do – obviously match the video to the song melody, but i also tried to match the scenes as best as i could to the lyrics. My favorite reference is “how could one little street swallow so many lives” when the traitor guy throws his cellphone into the trash, which gets alot of the team killed. Another hidden meaning scene is the “fragile lives, shattered dreams” where tank is killed (kinda) and the traitor guy gets killed in the following scene, destroying his dream of reinsertion in to the matrix. Well the ending… i just love the ending – i think it really leaves the veiwer with a great “WOW” factor at the very end, kinda epic.

Now onto the things i’d like to have changed, the 2 scenes that go with “longing for, used to be” i’d like to swap them, as now after i see the whole video it makes more sense. But what irks me the most is the 2nd “longing for, used to be” when neo is in the detention center. Rest of the film is dark and this is also a scene from teh begining so many reasons why i’d remove this scnee entirely from teh video.

The Rock: Well, here’s the one thing i learned from this video – don’t pick a song that is longer than 3 min, or … you’ll just run out of content to put in there. So some design elements here – when i went inot making this video i knew it was going to have a porblem with filling up the entire length of the song… so i needed some dramatic filler. I start off with the scene where the pres. aid is asking the pres. if they should bomb the hell out of alcatraz and kill all the civilians. Also – there are some really long scenes that id idn’t edit that fit with the song very well, there are when mason is getting freed from jail, the scene when the main character needs to shoot the the guy wrestiling with sean connery in the mine bucket, and the entirety of the pres. speech in the middle. I was happy i didn’t have to edit the video with the pres. speech – but it jsut worked out amazingly. The way i wanted to finsih this video was teh final part of the pres. speech where he says “Airstrike approved”

So onto the things i’d change… well, first, i’d have liked ot keep the chronology of the music video in tie with the story a litle bit. This is my major gripe with this video. And alas, i was unable to inish this video cause after 5 min, i just didn’t have it in me. Though i like the more dramatic effect of the pres. speech, i think it lacked the timing and synchoronuization of lyrics and songs as my matrix video.

Kanon: So this was my first attempt at using anime to make a music video – and what i thought was going to be an issue from the get go, was… Too much footage to choose from. Should stick to movies. Well anywho, i ended up stop workign on this cause i was wokrign on my honor’s thesis back in the day and just never went back to it.
